ValleyCAT Login Help

1. Your username is cvcc-, your first initial, last name and mmdd (month and date) of your birthday. Please do not use spaces.
Example: Jane Doe with a birth date of January 12 would be cvcc-jdoe0112.

2.  Your initial password is your 6 digit birthday (no space). (You should change your password)
Example: If your birthday is January 12, 1985, your password is 011285.
If access is denied – See step 3.

3. Refresh page, Reenter your username, then use the last 6 digits of your social security number as your initial password.
Example: If your social security number is 123-45-6789, your password would be 456789.
If access is denied – See step 4.

4. If access is denied – Please contact the help desk. For 24-hours-per-day, 7-days-per-week, Live phone help call 1-866-832-9253 OR Call 828-327-7000 ext. 8228 and leave message.

Fall Classes – When will I see them listed in ValleyCAT?

Important Internet Course Information Concerning Orientation and Course Access Dates

Students enrolled in Internet-based classes may view an informational orientation via ValleyCAT/Blackboard. This optional orientation illustrates fundamentals of online course work.  The orientation for Fall 2009 Internet classes will be available online at http://cvcc.blackboard.com beginning August 16, 2009.

If needed, face-to-face help will be available starting on August 17, 2009, anytime between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Assistance Center (LAC). The LAC is located in the Cuyler A. Dunbar Building room 148.  

Important dates for Internet classes are listed below.

NOTE: Students who do not access their Internet class(es) by the Automatic Drop Date will be dropped. Tuition Refund Policy

Class Access

  • Access to Internet classes is available on the class begin date.

  • All students should access online classes as soon as possible on or after the class begin date through the ValleyCAT link on the CVCC web page or http://cvcc.blackboard.com.

  • Instructions for logging into ValleyCAT are provided in the “How to Login” section on the ValleyCAT website.

NOTE:  If you are unable to access your coursework by the start date of class please contact your instructor or the ValleyCAT Help Desk at 1-828-327-7000 ext. 8228.
